Israel Lithuania Technology Hub wishes happy Hanukkah 2015

The traditional Hanukkah candle-lighting ceremony took place at the Beit Issie Shapiro in Ra'anana. The ceremony was opened by the Chairman of the Israel-Lithuania Technology Hub, Adv. Len Judes and the Executive Director of Beit Issie Shapiro, Mrs. Jean Judes. Ambassador of Lithuania to Israel H.E. Mr. Edminas Bagdonas attended the event as the Guest of Honor.

Prior to the lighting ceremony, H.E. Ambassador Edminas Bagdonas and the Chairman of the Israel-Lithuania Technology Hub, Adv. Len Judes visited the Municipality of Ra’anana and met with the Mayor, Zeev Bielsky, to discuss cooperation between Ra’anana and Vilnius and other Lithuanian towns, in the area of high-tech, life science and entrepreneurship.

A brief presentation of Beit Issie Shapiro (BIS) was given, followed by a presentation and discussions about the ILTH activities in 2015 and planned new activities for 2016. It was also discussed how the Hub might be able to assist Beit Issie. Also, the Ambassador expressed his wish to return to visit BIS with other ambassadors.

Visiting the BIS was very special and emotional experience, noting their amazing work, dedication to the disabled children and determination to do all that is possible for them. Mrs Jean Judes emphasised the very important role that technology has in assisting and rehabilitating the children. How technology has enabled them to communicate better and be more independent. Some of the most used technologies such as the touch screens, vibrating smart phones were actually developed for handicapped persons.

We were all moved and impressed by their amazing work, dedication and cutting edge educational and technological innovations in treating the children (and adults).
